ABOUT
In 1967 at age seven, Lisa and her family moved from Tucson to Los Angeles. While in Tucson she was passionate about the Beatles and music, and Los Angeles inspired the beginning of all of Lisa’s creativity and passion in popular culture.
Her interest in photography started in 1970 and she started taking photographs with her mom’s Kodak Instamatic S-10 camera. In 1971 (age 14) her parents gave her a Kodak Instamatic X-15 camera. At 15 she bought her first 35mm camera, a Minolta SRT-101 (thanks to Jeff Bernstein). Frequently with the Minolta she used a 2X Teleconverter. At Taft High School in Woodland Hills, she took photography classes and learned how to develop negatives and print her own photos in the darkroom. While at college at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, she used a Calumet 4×5 view camera and then a Nikon F2 (1980). She graduated in April 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Illustration. In June 2003 she started shooting digital photos with a Canon PowerShot G3. Now she shoots with her Apple iPhone.
Lisa worked for celebrity photographer Harry Langdon for five years in Los Angeles. She was photographer Jeff Dunas’ Executive Assistant when he was the owner of Melrose Publishing and the magazine Collector’s Editions. In 1990 Manhattan-based photographer Robert Farber hired her to be his Studio Manager. After working for Robert, she was the Director of Artist Relations at the high-end celebrity stock photo agency Corbis Outline (formerly known as Outline). Jim Roehrig founded Outline and Bill Gates bought Outline in 1998. Lisa worked at Corbis Outline for 15 years.
She has spent the past three years organizing and copyrighting her archives. She uses an Epson Perfection flatbed scanner to scan her photographs, transparencies, and negatives.
